Jennifer C. Meyer

Ms. Meyer is an experienced litigator who focuses on commercial litigation, appellate advocacy and intellectual property litigation.  She has represented institutional clients in connection with complex civil litigation in a broad range of substantive areas, including securities, intellectual property, products liability and antitrust law.

Prior to joining Macht, Shapiro, Arato & Isserles LLP in January 2009, Ms. Meyer was an associate at Latham & Watkins LLP for five years.

Representative recent matters include:

  • Represented major financial institution in NYSE arbitration involving claims by former brokers alleging damages of $90 million, which panel dismissed after hearing.  Co-authored the brief on appeal in New York Supreme Court, which affirmed dismissal.
  • Co-authored brief in successful appeal by General Cigar Company in which the Second Circuit vacated an injunction against General Cigar in a trademark infringement action arising from General Cigar's use of COHIBA mark on cigars sold in the United States. 
  • Represented Philippine corporation in New York Supreme Court trial involving breach of contract claims by financial services advisor located in Hong Kong.
